If you want to keep the doctor away for a long time, then researchers suggest on this, that you pair this delicious fruit with some other kind of food and drink so as to magnify the benefits. Keep these simple ideas in mind and try to incorporate these into your daily routine to keep a healthy body and to create an even delicious eating experience.

1. Pair up apples with the magic of green tea

Green tea and apples are both packed with tons of natural antioxidants which improve overall health by increasing the release of VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) – a signaling protein that enhances the growth and repair of blood vessels and promotes angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is the formation of new blood vessels, which is now being tested for its potential to treat cancer. Also, according to research, having an apple along with your green tea will require you to take less medication over the years and also help you maintain the level of bad cholesterol in your blood.

2. Relax your tummy with an apple right after lunch

Apples are a rich source of pectin, which is a soluble fiber that absorbs water to create a gel in the body that helps immensely with digestion. This means two things:

  • Your food will be digested easily and more quickly.
  • You remain full longer due to the post-lunch snack.  It will keep you away from any bad binging habits you might have developed. This practice will help you to maintain the sugar levels in your blood and improve the balance of insulin sensitivity.

3. Apple and Dark Chocolate

Apple is a generally loved fruit among all other fruits, and chocolates are, well, chocolates; these already make a great combo for your taste buds and the great health benefits that come with this are just a cherry on top of a wonderful chocolate infused apple pie. This combo, according to a study by Italian researchers, is meant to protect the blood vessels and help with clotting. This is possible because apples are rich in quercetin- a flavonol that is used in its potential benefits for treating cancer, while dark chocolate is rich in another flavonol called catechin.

These two flavonoids combine together and react to blood clots that form on any external injuries.  When the injury happens inside of the body, though, the blood vessels get damages and later start clotting, and this time, the clotting is bad because it may lead to the arteries getting clogged, therefore, causing cardiovascular diseases. Researchers have emphasized on the combination of these two flavonoids when combined, the two will prevent the clotting of the blood vessels and therefore keeping the person away from any cardiovascular diseases.
